The American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) is the charitable arm of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), one of the oldest and largest veterinary medical organizations in the world. More than 95,000 member veterinarians worldwide are engaged in a wide variety of professional activities. The Foundation, founded in 1963, is headquartered in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Since its inception, AVMF has provided more than $60 million in grants to help veterinarians help animals through education, advocacy, service and research programs, and activities.

The Animal Shelter provides a safe and clean facility for stray animals or unwanted pets. We offer a wide array of animals for adoption throughout the year. Please come by the shelter, or call to inquire about the types of animals that are available to adopt. Adoption hours at the Animal Services Shelter are Monday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1PM to 4PM.
